Technical Data
MIC-709
GENERAL
DESCRIPTION: MIC-709 is a concentrated, heavy
duty, alkaline cleaning compound designed to remove
carbon, oils, greases and proteinaceous deposits.
MIC-709 with increased detergency is heavily chelated
and contains a high amount of free alkalinity, increasing
its chemical activity by two fold. It can be used
in central cleaning systems, soaking operations, immersion
tanks, spray washers and recirculation systems. It
can also be used for boil outs. MIC-709 has an A8
USDA Rating.
PROPERTIES:
Biodegradable: Yes, all surfactants
Density: 12.4 lbs./gal.
Emulsification: Rapid
Foaming: Moderate
Odor: Slight
Flash Point: None
pH @1%: 12.5
Phosphates: None
Rinsing: Complete
Stability: Excellent
Wetting Ability: Excellent
USE PROCEDURE: When the product is applied
as a total liquid cleaning solution, normal use concentration
is 2 to 3 ounces per gallon for industrial applications
and in meat, poultry and food plants. Approximate
use concentration when applied as a foam is 4 to 6
ounces per gallon. A boil out operation will require
concentrations of approximately 4 to 6 ounces per
gallon, depending on the degree of soil present. When
MIC-709 is used in soaker tanks for immersion cleaning
of parts and equipment, concentration will generally
range between 4 to 6 ounces per gallon at a temperature
of 140°F to 160°F for C.I.P. Lines and 160°F
to 180°F for H.T.S.T. systems.
SAFETY DATA: Contains sodium hydroxide. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. DO NOT INGEST. When handling, wear rubber gloves, goggles and any other appropriate equipment or clothing to avoid skin contact. Avoid contact with clothing. Should contact occur, flush skin with water; for eyes, flood with large amounts of water for 15 minutes and get medical attention. If ingestion occurs, DO NOT INDUCE VOMITING. Drink fruit juice, milk or vinegar and get medical attention immediately. Read the Material Safety Data sheet before using.
