Technical Data
Ridfo SF10
GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Ridfo SF10 defoamer is of the silicone emulsion type employing a unique emulsification dispersion system for rapid knockdown and hold of troublesome foam. Extreme product stability is characteristic of Ridfo SF10. Even if diluted prior to use, weakening emulsifying agents, good stability is evident as compared to competitive products.
Ridfo SF10 is a food grade defoamer designed for water systems. It contains a synergistic blend of chemicals to knockdown and hold undesirable foam generated from a wide variety of sources. Ridfo SF10 antifoam is non-reactive, will not interfere in areas of use; stable, excellent even when diluted; of low viscosity, for ease of application; persistent, remains for hold down; fast spreading, for rapid knockdown. Ridfo SF10 has both A1 and L1 USDA ratings.
PROPERTIES:
Description: White emulsion, mild odor
Silicone: 10%
Wt/Gallon: 8.00
Specific Gravity: 0.96
Active: 10%
USE PROCEDURE: Ridfo SF10 antifoam can be used in adhesive manufacturing, blood processing, meat packing, carpet extraction cleaning, fermentation, food processing, juice and wine manufacturing, recirculating systems, tire and rubber, waste water treatment, and water based inks. This is by no means an exhaustive list as to where Ridfo SF10 may be applied. Although silicones are not effective in all foaming, it works as well for prevention as for knockdown. Ridfo SF10 is of low viscosity even at 30% concentration and, therefore, is easily dripped, pumped, metered, sprayed, or used for "one slug" applications. Ridfo SF10 can be applied anywhere on the foaming surface, but it is recommended to introduce the product near the foam generating site. Less antifoam is needed if added before the foam appears than if foam is already present.
As a general rule ....begin at a concentration of 100 ppm (approximately 1 pound to 1000 gallons) of Ridfo SF10 and, if effective, decrease to acceptable levels of foam.
STORAGE AND HANDLING: Ridfo SF10 contains water and, therefore, must be protected from freezing. Store between 50°F and 90°F. Standard shelf life is six months. It is good practice to rotate stock for optimum product performance. Ridfo SF10 is made of food grade materials, but should be handled with same precautions as with any chemical compound. Flush eye contact area with water to prevent irritation.
