 Ridfo 208S

GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Ridfo 208S is a non-silicone, highly efficient liquid antifoaming agent. Unlike most defoamers which employ one major agent for destroying undesirable foam, Ridfo 208S relies on a scientific, synergistic blend of defoaming chemicals. Rapid knockdown with superior holding power is achieved at very low concentrations. Ridfo 208S in non-reactive, will not interfere in areas of use, exhibits low odor and offers excellent and rapid surface flow out. Because Ridfo 208S does not contain silicone compounds, it is safe to use in metal working areas of organic coating processes.

WHERE TO USE: Ridfo 208S has been successfully used in the following applications:

Waste Treatment: This includes municipal sewage and industrial waste treatment where foam is generated from a variety of sources.

Paper Mills: Black liquor and at head box.

Recirculating Systems: Algae, corrosion, and scale control chemicals often create foam which interferes with pump efficiency.

Coolants: Emulsifiers in metal working lubricants and in recirculated machine coolants create undesirable foam.

Not all areas of application have been explored for Ridfo 208S. Let our expert staff examine your foaming problems and assist you in finding the most economical and effective product, eliminating your need to contact suppliers for trial of many products from many different sources.

USE PROCEDURE: Ridfo 208S works as well for knockdown as for foam prevention. Ridfo 208S is of low viscosity and is easily dripped, pumped, metered, sprayed, or used for "one slug" application. Ridfo 208S can be applied anywhere in the foaming surface, but it is recommended to introduce the product near the foam generating site. Store above 65°F.

PRODUCT EVALUATION: Charge 200 mls of solution into 1000 ml graduated cylinder. Using a source of air supply (small compressor, etc.), begin air flow through gas dispersion tube immersed in solution. Let foam rise to 1000 ml mark. Charge two drops of defoamer to be tested from eye dropper. Check knockdown and time holding capacity, recording foam height at one minute intervals for ten minutes (or longer). Compare performance to competitive product under same conditions.
