Cleaner 450
Heavy Duty Liquid Cleaner
GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Cleaner 450 is a heavy duty liquid cleaner formulated for use in both spray washer and immersion tank operations. It incorporates a unique blend of surfactants and rust inhibitors that are stable in a high caustic media and thus maintain their cleaning effectiveness. Removal of heavy soils, rust, and paint are quickly accomplished due to highly active penetrating agents and sequestrants. A high tolerance for contamination provides for sustained cleaning power and longer tank life. When parts are not rinsed, Cleaner 450 provides excellent rust inhibition.
PROPERTIES:
Form: Clear Yellow to Amber Liquid
Density: 9.35 lb./gal.
Foam: Low, Controlled
Rinsing: Complete
Alkalinity: High
Wetting: Excellent
Flash Point: None
Phosphates: None
pH @ 1%: 12.9
USE PROCEDURE: Cleaner 450 is used at 1% to 10% at 120°F to 170°F for one to three minutes in spray washer systems. A concentration of 5% to 15% by volume at 160°F to rolling boil for three to seven minutes is generally used for immersion operations. Cleaner 450 can also be used at ambient temperatures although some foam may be experienced. Extremely heavy soil loads and/or rust may require higher concentrations. A rolling boil often provides sufficient agitation to increase the cleaning effectiveness on difficult soil loads. Other means of agitation can be air or mechanical. Safe on iron, steel, and copper. May darken some alloys. Not safe on aluminum, galvanize, zinc die cast, and other soft metals.
SAFETY DATA: Contains sodium hydroxide. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. DO NOT INGEST. When handling, wear rubber gloves, goggles and any other appropriate equipment or clothing to avoid skin contact. Avoid contact with clothing. Should contact occur, flush skin with water; for eyes, flood with large amounts of water for 15 minutes and get medical attention. If ingestion occurs, DO NOT INDUCE VOMITING. Drink fruit juice, milk or vinegar and get medical attention immediately. Read the Material Safety Data sheet before using.
