GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Cleaner 414 is a heavy duty liquid cleaner formulated for use in both spray washer and immersion tank operations. This product is ideal for pre-plating and pre-painting operations where minimal foam is advantageous, particularly where air agitation is present. It incorporates a unique blend of surfactants that are stable in a high caustic media and thus maintain their cleaning effectiveness. Removal of heavy soils, rust, and paint are quickly accomplished due to highly active penetrating agents and sequestrants. A high tolerance for contamination provides for sustained cleaning power and longer tank life.

USE PROCEDURE: Cleaner 414 is used at 1% to 4% by volume at 120°F to 170°F for one to two minutes in spray washer systems. A concentration of 5% to 15% by volume at 160°F to rolling boil for 3 to 7 minutes is generally used for immersion operations. Extremely heavy soil loads and/or rust may require higher concentrations and/or processing times. A rolling boil often provides sufficient agitation to increase the cleaning effectiveness on difficult soil loads. Other means of agitation can be air or mechanical. Safe on iron, steel, and copper. May darken some alloys. Not safe on aluminum, galvanize, zinc die cast, and other soft metals.
SAFETY DATA: Contains sodium hydroxide. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. DO NOT INGEST. When handling, wear rubber gloves, goggles and any other appropriate equipment or clothing to avoid skin contact. Avoid contact with clothing. Should contact occur, flush skin with water; for eyes, flood with large amounts of water for 15 minutes and get medical attention. If ingestion occurs, DO NOT INDUCE VOMITING. Drink fruit juice, milk or vinegar and get medical attention immediately. Read the Material Safety Data sheet before using.
